Love the gin mill! Its a good to spot for me for date nights. The lunch menu and dinner menu are great - lunch is a bit cheaper. Cocktails are fabulous and it's just super cool vibes.

Had a great experience at The Gin Mill. The atmosphere is one of the first things that stands out β€” the interior is beautifully decorated with a classy, upscale feel that makes it a fun place to spend an evening. They also have a nice outdoor patio area that’s perfect for enjoying a drink on a nice day. The cocktails were excellent. We tried a couple of drinks and both were flavorful, well-made, and definitely worth ordering. We also shared the Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer, which was a standout and packed with great flavor. For my entrΓ©e, I ordered the New York Steak with sides. The sides were very good, and overall the steak had great flavor and was cooked properly. My only criticism is that the cut was a little tougher than I expected. For the price point, I was hoping for a slightly more tender steak. Speaking of price, this is definitely on the higher end for the area. Between two cocktails, my entrΓ©e, and splitting the appetizer with a friend, the bill came out to around $75 per person before tip. Overall, The Gin Mill offers a great vibe, excellent drinks, tasty food, and a beautiful setting. While the steak didn’t quite meet my expectations for tenderness, I’d still come b

We went to the gin mill for our anniversary because of the great things we had heard about it! Unfortunately our meal was quite lack luster. The spinach and artichoke dip was phenomenal and the ceasar salad and mac and cheese were great! The twice baked potatoes were overcooked on the outside, but the flavor was good. The steaks were where we had problems. I honestly should have sent my steak back immediately but I really hate doing that. I got a filet, and just looking at the outside, it was not a great cut. I also ordered it medium, and it definitely came out on the more rare side. I also got a not so great bite at the end that turned me off from the entire thing. The steaks just lacked flavor, it tasted like there wasn’t even salt or pepper on them. Pretty disappointed!

The β€œfamous” Delmonico was just okay. It was a thick cut and cooked perfectly, but it really lacked flavor. The Caesar salad was very good and one of the highlights of the meal. The menu has several other dishes that look worth trying, so I plan to come back for another visit. Service was not great, but it seemed more like a staffing problem than the server’s fault. She was covering too many tables along with the patio, which made it hard for her to give consistent attention. With better staffing, the service would likely improve. Overall, this felt like a 3.5 star experience. Some parts of the meal were enjoyable, others were underwhelming, but there is enough potential here that I am willing to give it another chance. Update (October 2025): I returned to The Gin Mill and had a much better experience. I ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu β€” it was very tasty, though slightly overcooked, which made it a bit dry and burned some of the breading. Thankfully, the cheese sauce saved it. The cup of French onion soup was delicious, the Caesar salad was once again excellent (fresh and clearly made with house dressing), and the twice-baked potato was very good. Service was noticeably improv
